Introducing WEEKLY Fridays

June 13, 2017

When the GameVibes team first walked into the Folsom Street Foundry in late 2013, our unproven concept of a weekly, large scale night of celebrating gaming culture was granted an opportunity on a traditionally slower night of the week, Tuesday.  It only took three weeks for our Tuesday #SFGameNight to make the front page of Reddit resulting in a massive spike in attendance, with over 100,000 people attending our various events since.

We are excited to announce that we have been given the opportunity by our partners at Folsom Street Foundry to host our newly branded GameVibes efforts WEEKLY on Fridays, the most requested night of the week by our guests, on June 30th, 2017.

Much with all partnerships, there must be some give and take. The cause of the Friday opportunity is due to the Folsom Street Foundry requesting to have GameVibes operate on Thursdays and Fridays ONLY, as a majority of their clients request conflicting dates of Tuesdays for events.  The Foundry is a much desired event space that has rejected many requests over the years in favor of keeping GameVibes events consistent.  We thank them for their valued partnership and accept the request to discontinue Tuesdays in favor of Fridays so that they may continue to grow their business while allowing GameVibes to continue to operate two days a week.

The next few weeks will be a bittersweet month of transition as we have had so many memorable moments on Tuesdays with our community over the years.  We will list the transition dates below:

What to expect moving forward:

Tuesdays - We've been actively pursuing hosting at a NEW venue in the East Bay, not with the intention of replacing Tuesdays, but to add a third night of the week to our efforts in the Bay Area. There is a strong chance we will move our Tuesday efforts to this new location but we cannot confirm at this time.  Our weekly Super Smash Bros. Melee esports tournament "Get Smashed" will be put on hold until this effort is finalized.  We expect to begin hosting weekly events in the East Bay by end of July, 2017.

Thursday: Will remain unchanged and continue to feature casual gaming and our weekly Smash 4 esports tournament "Smash of the Titans".

Fridays - Will feature more of a party atmosphere including guest DJs and unique gaming experiences.

We'd like to thank our community for their understanding and support as we continue to explore the best ways to celebrate gaming.
